Writing a book is hard. I had hoped to finish my book in the beginning of 2019, but life got in the way. I haven’t given up on it. But, I don’t have an estimate of when it will be finished. This is a draft of the synopsis that could be on the back of the book “In The Image Of God: Purposefully Live The Life God Planned For You,” when it is published.
What is keeping you from living the life you believe God created you to live?
Think about what it means to be the handiwork of God. My wife Jennifer has wonderful artistic talents. When she makes a piece of art, it is nearly impossible to part with it.
In a recent move, one of her pieces of artwork was damaged. If that artwork was created by someone else, we would have been tempted to throw it away. Since it was made by Jennifer, we will find a way to use it in the décor of our home in its current damaged condition. We will display it and admire it as it is until she can restore it to its original and intended state.
In the same way, God admires His handiwork, you. Even though you were broken through sin, He admires what He knows you will become when He has restored you to your original intended state when you enter the kingdom of heaven. Until then, He has a plan to use you in your current condition.
What should all this mean to you? I meet many people who are not living the life they dream of living or the life God planned for them because:
- They are afraid they will fail,
- They feel like they have messed up too much in life to be used by God,
- They feel like they need to fix themselves before letting God work through them.
How about you? What is keeping you from living the life you believe God created you to live?
“In The Image of God” will help you understand the confident hope He has given to those He called – His holy people who are His rich and glorious inheritance. It will help you understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for those who believe Him. The same power that raised Jesus from the dead can enable you to live the life of your dreams (Ephesians 1:18-21).
