Prayer for Cindy

This prayer for Cindy was derived from the Prayer for Physical Healing chapter of the book, “Moving Mountains (p. 204),” by John Eldredge

Consecrate yourself to be renewed and ready to pray for Cindy.

Lord Jesus — I present myself to you now to be your partner in prayer, to be your vessel of healing. I consecrate to you my body, soul, and spirit, my heart, mind, and will.  I consecrate to you my gifting, my hearing, all my prayers. Cleanse me with your blood, Lord; restore me and renew me. Holy Spirit, fill me afresh; restore my union with Jesus, and restore the power of Jesus in me. Holy Spirit, I ask you to guide and fill this time of prayer.

Pray specifically for Cindy

O God, you are our life. You are Cindy’s life. You have breathed into us the breath of life, and we have become living beings (Gen. 2:7). Our very existence and our being flow from you. In you we live and move and have our being (Acts 17:28). Jesus—you are the Vine, and we are true branches of yours (John 15:5). Cindy is a true branch of yours. Father, you have made Cindy alive with Christ (Eph. 2:4–5). Dear Father, we give Cindy to you now to be filled with your life. Restore this frail branch in full union with Jesus who is the Vine. Restore her full union with Christ and with you. We call forth the mighty life of Jesus Christ to flow into Cindy now. May your life and resurrection power flow now into her body, and into the afflicted places in her body. Specifically Lord, remove the fluids from Cindy’s lung. Cast out the blood clots if they exist. Strengthen her heart to handle the disease that is ravaging her body. . [Add any other specifics—call the life of God into the places of pain and brokenness.]

You are the God who gives life to the dead (Rom. 4:17). And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in us (and you are living in us), he who raised Jesus from the dead can also give life to our mortal bodies through his Spirit, who lives in us (Rom. 8:11). Mighty Spirit of God, we call forth your power into Cindy’s body, and into every place of affliction. O God, fill Cindy with the resurrection power of Jesus Christ.

We declare and we enforce the authority of Jesus Christ over Cindy and over her body. We bring the authority of Jesus Christ over her body and over these afflicted places – her lungs, her legs and any place where blood might be clotting in her body, her heart, and any place where disease exists but has not been detected.

By the authority we have in the name of Jesus Christ, we command the restoration of this body; we command the complete restoration of all the parts of Cindy’s body that are not working as you designed. In the authority of Jesus Christ, we call forth the mighty healing power of Jesus into her body Amen.
