Adam! Adam! Where are you? Why are you hiding from me? Why won’t you talk to me? … “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree that I commanded you not to eat from (Genesis 3:11, NIV)?” I wonder how God felt when the first man and woman decided they had better things to do than to commune with their God. After all, man was created en the image of God to walk with Him, talk with Him and work with Him. God created a system of interconnected subsystems that had the capabilities to work perfectly together to preserve and display His glory. John Piper writes, “All His works are simply the spillover of His infinite exuberance for His own excellence. (Desiring God, p44).” Then, one part of the perfectly created system decided to go their own way. The intention of the system, which was to display the Glory of God (Psalms became …..? The heavens were created to display God’s glory (Psalm 19:1). They reveal the knowledge of the universe and it’s Creator to all of creation (Psalm 19:2). Mankind was created to glorify (Isaiah 43:7) and praise (Isaiah 43:21) God by loving Him with all our heart, mind and soul and loving others as we love ourselves. We were specially created in the image of the Creator. He even gave us the ability to create through procreation and through the work of our hands.

Our spirit gives us the ability to be like God mentally, morally and socially.

The earth was created to be the dwelling place for mankind (Isaiah 45:18). In the beginning the system God created worked perfectly together.
